respect my authori-TIE (as said by cartman)

im on LV time now.
went to bed at 2pm yesterday after playing for like 16 hours. slept for 11 hours, woke up, showered and went to play. won 300 at binions. right when i sat down, i asked to move to the 9 seat. (i prefer to sit on the end of the table so i can see all the players actions)
the guy in the 8 seat had like 1200 (200 max buy-in) in front of him, played like 5 hands and then tells me "i played with you the other day, i cant play with you, you're too tight. u sat to my left intentionally."
i didn't recall him for sure, but i think he was a guy the night before i called him for 50 on the river with 63off with a pair of threes to his ak no pair.
then later i bluffed him but didn't bet the river his kicker was bigger than mine (no pair each) note to all players, if you're gonna bluff, you gotta go the whole way. how does that play make me too tight?

i took it as a compliment, but at the same time i was offended. i have made a good portion of my money calling raises with small cards.

the golden nugget has a pretty nice poker room. 1-2 no limit, NO MAX buy-in. pretty good game. i am told the game at the venetian is the best game in town. i'll find out on sunday or monday after my camping adventure. maybe i'll take some pictures and post em.
took a rack of red out of the nugget game to make 800 up for 6 hours of play. i'm back baby!

i have earned the respect of many of the local players and they seem to be welcoming me into their fraternity. same thing with all the dealers.

binions is going to have the exact same tournament as the previous day's world series of poker tournament for %10 of the buy in. ex. nl omaha 8 or better, buy-in $2000, the next day they have the same one for $200.

i think that will be more of my focus, and i recommend that if you visit, you should do it then. check out the dates on worldseriesofpoker.com

played in that pl choice game again, won again. love that shit.
another new game to play is ABC. three cards, three draws. a23 is the best hand. super super crazy. i think that playing these choice games improves my game much quicker that just playing hold-em. i had to play 2-4 limit while waiting to get on a table, even playing a little of that makes you tighten up your game, (if you want to win that is)

haven't been looking too hard for a place to stay yet, was scared with all that losing, but now with me scaring off dudes with tons of cash "because i'm too tight" and winning this morning i'll get some place next week. the stability will be a positive asset.

my confidence is still very high, and i know that i have the ability to play and win against every one i've played against so far. and believe me there are a lot of sharks in the water. sometimes they are even easier to beat. you can misrepresent yourself and trap em because they're over confident.

my biggest problem is self discipline (not just while playing cards) but i feel i'm getting better. it was like for the first few days i was in vacation mode, cramming in as much playing time as i could stand. playing tired, getting too drunk, bluffing too much instead of being patient. but i got up and left the last 2 times when i was feeling it was time to go. up 300, then up 500. get in, get out.
i was just ignoring those feelings. but i have been focusing mainly on that and have limited my risk taking.

i'm off to lake mead to camp tonight, possibly sat night too. i think i'll take a boat tour.

tony salinas was that guy's name. i bet 20 on the over he liked and lost. and parlayed it with 2 other things for 30. i also played 20 at the craps table. other than that i have been exclusively playing poker. one of the main keys to make this a successful venture.

tip for potential players. wearing large aviator sunglasses is the best way to hide your facial expressions. but that pulsating neck a mile a minute is one of the best giveaways when someone is bluffing.

the weather here is perfect now. hotter in the casinos than outside.
not looking forward to the heat.
i'll just have to get enough cash to fan myself.

the interesting things you see in vegas.
4am and 3 solid 9's walk into binions together (red head, blond, and brunette; A true Neapolitan) and head right toward the elevators. it was a guarantee that they didn't have a room, but they were there to stay for the night. makes you wonder how much 3 scoops of ice cream costs?

i dont plan to become an ice cream reviewer, or even try any.

You are correct, you should let the ice cream professionals figure out those costs and focus your attention to those at the tables.

Enjoy your weekend at the lake and take a lot of pictures. Genevieve was thinking about starting a pool to see how long it would take you to find a place. We will see what she does. We will check out the WSOP schedule to see the best time to come out.

We are all pulling for you. Be patient, study, and pick your spots.

Look forward to more entries.

3 things:

1. I believe it's "authoritaaah!" You say tomato, I say tomato.

2. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

3. If you put things in here that make Katy mad, I will come out there and introduce my four inch heels to your mortal nuts...in front of all your new fancy friends.

Good stuff. I'm glad to hear you're doing well. I hope "livin' the dream" works out for you.

I've got to say I'd be pretty scared to try it, even if I was really good at poker. Up a couple of hundred and down a couple with my food and lodging on the line would probably get me an ulcer in short order.

Good luck to you and hoping you don't need it!
